Well, there is not much to
report. Things are still pretty quiet,
which is very nice for a change.
We received a Yank magazine
with a picture on the cover of Mass
being said in a barn. I was in
the picture some place, however I
couldn't find myself. I tried to get
a copy of the picture to have
but they were all grabbed. I
think that I shall write to Yank
and have them send me a copy. We
also received another copy with
pictures of the prison camp
that I mentioned in a previous
letter. I shall try and get a
copy of that at the same time.
Well, that is not much in
the way of news but it is all I
have. I guess that it will have
to be all for now.

Description
Brief letter noting the quiet, much of the fighting has ended. Unconditional surrender will take effect on May 9, 1945 and his unit will head further East into Czechoslovakia before returning as part of the army of occupation.
Describes a cover of Yank magazine of a Mass he attended which was held in a barn. He also describes another article that had pictures of Buchenwald which he had described in his previous letter. He had saved copies of both, and both were included in materials donated to USHMM.
I was able to find a copy of the Yank magazine cover. For the pictures of Buchenwald, I was not able to find a copy of the original magazine. There was, however, a 1990s xerox copy of the material prior to it being donated.
